Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of Randolph County Criminal History. Using the website means accepting all terms below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Its purpose is to route readers to Randolph County and Alabama record resources. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no connection to a public office. It cannot store or issue official records, conduct an official check, or file a document for a user.

Its content identifies the offices responsible for Randolph County records, including the Sheriff's Office, District and Circuit Courts, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency CJIS, and Alabama Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also display tools operated by outside partners.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information obtained here or through a linked tool may be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate. Alabama Code §15-20A-8 requires the state registry to warn against injury, harassment, and criminal misuse. Alabama Sex Offender Registry data supports community awareness, never vigilantism.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check for a regulated purpose must come from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency or an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing here is legal advice. General Randolph County record procedures cannot determine how a charge, warrant, conviction, or expungement law applies to one person. Ask a licensed Alabama attorney for that advice.

6. No Warranties

All material and services are offered "as is," without a promise that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dispositions, access limits, and expungement orders can change a record. Gaps and stale details are possible. No statement here should be treated as an official statement from a court, sheriff, or other agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

An external link may lead to law enforcement, a court, a state agency, legal assistance, or an outside search service. We do not control a destination's content, availability, price, or data practices. Its own terms apply after leaving this site.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Randolph County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, distributing, modifying, or building on that material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for loss or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on information obtained through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to defend and hold us harmless against a claim or demand caused by that user's conduct or breach of these terms, including reasonable related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Alabama law governs these terms. A dispute tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Alabama. Public-record access remains subject to the Alabama Open Records Act, Ala. Code §36-12-40, while criminal-history misuse is restricted by §41-9-601.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A revision takes effect when the updated version is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms stay in force. The affected provision is narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
